The
Kowloon Motor Bus celebrated its 80th anniversary on 13th April 2013
and to mark the occasion a special event was held at its Shatin Depot.
A number of vehicles were on display on the Depot's top floor and I am
grateful to Tramric for providing the following photographs. At least
three Wrights Gemini 2 bodied Volvo B9TLs have received 80th
anniversary livery, AVBWU54 and AVBWU252 are pictured below whilst
AVBWU253 carries a predominantly red livery with yellow 'one man
operation' bands at the front. In addition, an octopus card resembling
an old bus ticket will also be available.

also released four new models (see News 13th April 2013) and in addition
announced the forthcoming release of a Daimler A, as shown below and also
confirmed a model of Wrights Eclipse Gemini 2 in 80th anniversary
livery would also be issued (it is not known which livery will be modelled) along with several other 'older'
vehicles. |
