The above photographs were taken at open day and Morris rally at the Oxford Bus Museum on Sunday 5th July 2008. The bus is privately owned and returned from Hong Kong 21 years ago! It has recently returned to the museum, having been completely restored by Thamesdown Transport in Swindon.

KMB introduced the AEC Regent Mk V bus to its fleet in Hong Kong in the 1960s.  It was the most historic and unprecedented bus type amongst the KMB bus fleet in terms of body length (34 feet) and passenger capacity (117 passengers).  The bus was deployed mainly on the busiest routes in the Kowloon Peninsula, such as 1, 2B, 5, 6B, and 13.

The AEC Regent Mk V bus (also called the Long Dragon) served the public for over 25 years.  It has made a significant contribution to the transportation history of Hong Kong.  And as such, even today, it is still remembered by the public at large.

A165 entered service in April 1966 and was withdrawn in May 1987, after which it was shipped to the UK and is now in private ownership.

This vehicle, albeit in it's original guise, was the subject of a Cars Workshop model
 issued in January 2001 (38101).
