Best Choose have announced a further release of their 1/120 scale Leyland Victory Mk2 (05062), this time in China Motor Bus pale blue and cream livery and with a diorama. It is expected to be released in June and is limited to 1,500 pieces. It will retail for HK$79.90.

KMB have unveiled their latest Euro IV buses - ATE257 (MJ2927) and AVD1 (MF5119), which entered service on 24th May. My thanks to Dennis Law for the photos and information. Further photos will be added shortly.

A new page has just been added for the P & T resin KMB MCW Metrobus (B0017).

Released today in Hong Kong is the P & T Models resin KMB MCW Metrobus (B0017). This features S3M248 (but the fleet no. on the bus model is S3M148) EL7383, on route 27 from Shun Tin to Mong Kok (circular). It is believed that whilst the limited edition certificate states a quantity of 400 pieces, only around 200 have been released. The model does not carry any KMB decals. Further photos will appear shortly.

The 80M Bus Model Shop website confirms the report on 17th May that Cars Workshop are to issue a model of Kowloon Motor Bus AVBE1 (39403), the first Volvo B9TL with an Enviro 500 body. It is on route no. 118 and is limited to 1,900 pieces. The model features an opening rear engine cover. Further details and photograph will appear as soon as they are received.

The product number of this model is that which I have allocated to the plain white Enviro 500 issued last year. I will therefore need to amend the relevant pages on the site.

Featured on the 312 Model website is a resin dual-door KMB Bedford OB. The model represents 4227 on route no. 10.

My thanks to Dave Rogers who tells me that the Big Bus Condor is set for Dubai, the upper deck door being there to keep the air-conditioned front section cool!

With the lack of model news, today's news is dominated by the real things!!

Thanks to Megabus 13601, a new Xtra page has tonight been added, this featuring two ex-China Light and Power Olympians.

This and a further photograph have been added to the Xtra (Big Bus) section of the site. Can anyone tell me where it is destined for?

22nd May 2006

I have been advised that the 1276 Busstop Fotopic site is being overhauled and as such there is now a set of themed galleries. All oriental interest items are now in a separate gallery, items relating to scale models are in another and finally there is a features gallery for recording one off events.

The June issue of 'Buses' magazine is now available and this includes an excellent photo, taken by Chris Martin, of a former China Light & Power Leyland Olympian, now operated in the UK by Talisman, Great Bromley. Also featured is the Roadliner East Lancs 'Roadlyner', details of which are shown below.

19th May 2006

I have received an unconfirmed report that KMB are to issue a model of AVBE1, the first Volvo B9TL with an Enviro 500 body. It is believed there will be a quantity of 3,000 pieces with a release date of either late May or early June.
17th May 2006

Not really related to the site (but it does have three axles!) is this Volvo B9TL with East Lancs 'Roadlyner' bodywork, delivered yesterday to my local coach operator 'Roadliner'. It is fitted out to full coach executive, and has 102 seats! Further details can be found at the unofficial Roadliner site.

14th May 2006

I am advised by Dave Rogers that having had many requests from collectors unable to get to bus rallies, he is now able to offer his commissioned model of Citybus 152 (hkbus0001) via mail order. For full details, check Dave's website which can be found here

Further photographs have been added to the Xtra page featuring the recent arrival of the Big Bus Company former KMB Olympians. These show several vehicles undergoing conversion in Hong Kong. A further photograph of Olympian 6 operating in London has also been added.
8th May 2006

Pictured above is a further Checkmate model, this being code 1 model carrying overall Nikon adverts and believed to have been only issued in China. A new page will be added shortly.

New photographs have been added for the CMNL Green Bus (hkbus2007).

Following the publishing of the photographs in the Xtra section of the site of the Big Bus Company former KMB Olympians, several photos have been sent to me featuring some of these buses whilst they were being converted to open-top by a 3rd-party contractor in Hong Kong. These will be added to the appropriate pages shortly.

7th May 2006

Two new pages have tonight been added to the Xtra section of the site. One features some former KMB Olympians now operating for the Big Bus Company in London and the second features former China Motor Bus Leyland Olympian LM7, now transferred to First Eastern Counties in Great Yarmouth.

A new page has also been added for the resin Dennis Pax from 312 Model (B0016), which was released in Hong Kong last week.

Pictured above is a Buses Model Co. China Motor Bus Leyland Olympian, LM5, alongside the 'red kangaroo' Metrobus from ABC Models. It is believed this model was considered by Buses Model Co. to be the prize in their competition last year. It is not known how many of these models were produced but one is currently for sale on a Hong Kong auction site. The route no. is 347 to Aberdeen.

The above photographs show three versions of the new CMNL 'Green Bus' (hkbus2007). It is believed that the model on the right is the first pre-production sample, the one in the middle the second pre-production sample and the one on the left the final production model. Further larger photographs will be added shortly.

I would welcome any further photos of the production model together with confirmation as to whether it has been released in Hong Kong.

4th May 2006

Little news to report, but a new page has now been added for the Cars Workshop KMB 1/24 scale DMS (12402).
