Kowloon Motor Bus's new Scania K230UB single-deckers have begun to enter service this week. They have been designated as being the ASB class. The above photograph, taken at Jordan, shows ASB6 (NU9285) on route 2C to Tsim Sha Tsui. My thanks to Vincent Chong for providing the photograph and information. A higher resolution image will be added to the  section of the site shortly. If you know of any other of this batch of vehicles to enter service, please e-mail me  - photographs would, of course, be most welcome.

Well Andrew Webb says 'no', and advises that the Dubai operation uses Mercedes minibuses (at least two) on feeder services from hotels to the tour route.

... and yet more new Enviro500s, this time for MTR. It is believed they have received five Shenzhen built examples, one of which (fleet no 810) is believed to have entered service briefly, but has since been withdrawn.

First day of service for Citybus 8110 and 8112

Three new Citybus Alexander Dennis Enviro500s entered service today, namely 8110 (NU4614), 8111 (NU5176) and 8112 (NU7670). All were employed on route 102, which runs between Shau Kei Wan and Mei Foo. My special thanks to Dennis Law, not only for providing this news, but also for supplying such a selection of photographs, more of which will be added shortly.

The Hong Kong Model Co. website gives details of two new resin models, which are set to be released in Hong Kong tomorrow. Both feature the Kowloon Motor Bus Seddon Pennine 4. The first, AR7661, is in 'as delivered' livery and is on route 40 to Tsuen Wan Ferry (8172A) whilst the second, fleet no. S40 (AR7660) represents KMB's later livery with a full cream front and vents in the front roof dome. This is on route 35A to On Yam (8173A).

My thanks to Dennis Law for sending me a couple of photos of Big Bus Company Toyota Coaster LM8337, and he asks the question, is this the smallest Big Bus in operation?  Please e-mail me if you know of a smaller vehicle - sorry no prizes! Released last Friday in Hong Kong were the two resin versions of Kowloon Motor Bus Dennis Jubilant CF4180 from Auto Motor Collection. The first (amb001c-hk) is on route 1K to Kowloon Station (South Circular) whilst the second (amb001d-hk) has route and destination decals for the purchaser to apply. Both models are limited to 180 pieces each. Further photographs will be added shortly.

Network Shuttle Model Shop

The Concorde Hobby Shop have announced two versions of a resin kit, namely a Mitsubishi Fuso Mk117J (CHS0903). One version has the seating arrangement for KMB whilst the other has the seating layout for KCRC. Each is limited to 100 pieces. No certificate, logo, route number, destination or instructions are included.

My thanks to "ATENVIRO", for providing this information. "ATENVIRO" is a newly developed Hong Kong bus enthusiast group formed in 2007. The group consists of members from different bus companies and bus enthusiasts with specific knowledge or information about buses. There is also a subsidiary website "BUS DATAFILE" which provides details of Hong Kong bus fleet lists. In addition, "ATENVIRO" provides updates to the PSV Circle for the fleet movements of Hong Kong bus companies. The group organises various activities, including the occasional bus trip.
