Vehicle Model Studio (VMS) has just announced their first new product for 2013, which is a Little Registration Plate Key Chain/Mobile Phone Rope set to be sold at their Dry Goods Stall in the Lunar New Year at Mose Park. Its length is 6 cm and the customer has the choice of registration number.

My thanks to Ken who has sent me a selection of photographs showing his modified 1:120 buses. A selection of 'base' models have been used and I'm sure you'll agree they are all very impressive.

There are quite a few eye catching advertisements adorning the buses of Hong Kong at present, and below are a few examples.

Continuing the subject of matching fleet and route numbers, I have received a number of photographs showing various combinations, none of which are 'perfect' matches, and too many to include here, but Keith Wood has provided a couple of 'good' matches, which are shown above - New World First Bus 11.3 metre Enviro500s 4023 and 4038 on routes 23 and 38 respectively.

The remaining photographs of the two Guangzhou Bus GZ6112S models from RV Model have now been added to the appropriate pages (RV-001RV-002).

Further details have been received on the new Guangzhou Bus GZ6112S1 models from RV Model. Each is limited to 788 pieces and at present they are only available on-line or from some model shops in China. On eBay each model is currently selling for approximately UKŁ45. Whilst new pages have been added (RV-001RV-002), a lack of time has prevented me uploading further photographs, but I hope to rectify this shortly.

I believe that Citybus will officially launch its new generation Enviro500 at a ceremony on Thursday 24th January.

I am grateful to Jacky Ho and RV-Model for providing news and photographs of two new 1/76 scale diecast buses. Both models are replicas of Guangzhou Bus GZ6112S1 from Guangzhou Denway Bus Co. Ltd., China.
Produced by RV-Model, the first model (RV-001) was released in November last year and is based on the bus operated by the Guangzhou First Bus Company. The route number is 131B which is a route operating around the Pearl River in Guangzhou city. The second (RV-002) is based on the same bus that is operated by the Guangzhou Jumbo Bus (Group) Holdings Limited. The route number is 272 which was a bus line commuting between the two train stations in Guangzhou, but has recently been suspended. This model is believed to have just been released. New pages and further photographs will be added shortly.

Following yesterdays posting of Citybus Olympian No. 592 on route 592, I have received a few other similar fleet and route no. matches, which are shown below.

Kowloon Motor Bus has today registered and allocated a fleet number to its BYD eBus single-deck bus. BE1 (RV8143) is believed to be the first of ten such vehicles ordered by KMB.

Meanwhile Citybus Alexander ALX500 bodied Dennis Trident no. 2303 (pictured above in August last year) was badly damaged by fire today whilst operating route B3A in the Shenzhen Bay Bridge area.

Whilst perusing photographs taken during my recent visit to Hong Kong I came across this shot, taken at Causeway Bay's Moreton Terrace Bus Terminus. Nothing out of the ordinary I hear you say, other than the fact that this Citybus Olympians' fleet number matches its route number. This leads me to ask what other fleet no./route no. matches are possible/likely?
14th January 2013

I am led to believe that whilst Citybus and New World First Bus will decorate a similar vehicle from each fleet for the Year of the Snake, the decals will differ to some degree. Further details are expected shortly.
