My thanks to Keith Wood who advises that that the latest Megabus “in & out of London” model (hkbus2004) from Creative Master Northcord Ltd is available from the Stagecoach East London travel shop in Ilford.

I've just received an unconfirmed report, which advises that the ex-CMB heritage buses stored on the roof of NWFB's Wong Chuk Hang Depot, including LF26, SF3, MB5, DS1, LV30, Ex-LX316 (Cash Collecting Bus), plus a number of Guy Arab service vehicles, have already been purchased by a number of unknown buyers. ML81, on the other hand, has been converted into an open-topper together with Dennis Condors T101 (Ex-DL7) and T102 (Ex-DL10).

Following the news of the forthcoming trolleybus from Creative Master Northcord, the Links page has been updated to include the following site:- The Electric Trolleybus Homepage - well worth a visit!

31st August 2004

A new page has been created for the forthcoming KMB Seddon Mk 17 from Cars Workshop (33301 39301).

I have just realised that owing to a technical problem not all the photographs taken during the "Exhibition on History of Hong Kong Buses" were actually uploaded on 15th August - so although the exhibition is now over, they are still worth looking at.

I am very grateful to Julian Bowden for allowing me to use the above photograph of a Kowloon Motor Bus Seddon Mk17. Cars Workshop will be issuing a model in the near future (39301) which comes in a diorama set featuring the Jordan Road Ferry Pier building. Further photographs of the CMNL Sunwin trolleybus (cnbus1005) featured in yesterdays News have now been uploaded.

It is believed that Cosmopolis Bus Fan Club may have ceased their operations. Their website is now closed down, and their club's enquiry hotline has also been disconnected. There are unconfirmed reports claiming that financial problems may have lead to the club's unexpected closure.

Due for release in Hong Kong tomorrow (Friday 27th) is the Cars Workshop KMB Daimler E (38402). It features AD7398 on route  number 102 to Lai Chi Kok, is limited to 2000 pieces and retails for HK$288.

Two new 'oriental' models from Creative Master Northcord Ltd are due for release shortly. The first, pictured above, features a further version of the Mitsubishi Fuso CNG (compressed natural gas), this being in the livery of Japanese operator Sendai City Bus (JB1008). John Ayrey Die-casts Ltd will be distributing this model in the UK, and it is listed as being due in September.

The second features a Sunwin SWB5115GP single-deck trolleybus in Shanghai colours (cnbus1005). Again John Ayrey Die-casts Ltd will be distributing this model in the UK, and it is listed as being due in September.

My special thanks to John Ayrey Die-casts Ltd for providing a superb selection of photographs, more of which will be uploaded as soon as I can!

I have just received news that DM17, the ex-New World First Bus/China Motor Bus Dennis Condor, now in preservation in the UK, is for sale. If you are interested in acquiring this unique bus, visit the DM17 website.
22nd August 2004

As reported on the 80M Bus Model Shop website, a diecast model of a KMB Seddon Mk 17 (39301) is on its way. The model will be limited to 3,000 pieces and comes with 'Ferry Pier' building. More details will follow, when known.

Released in Hong Kong today is Citybus MAN/Volgren No. 2500 (OM45405) in its original livery, as pictured above. Further photos have been added to this page.

16th August 2004

It has just been pointed out to me that the general release model from Best Choose of the China Motor Bus Guy Arab Mk IV/Metal Sections (02011) does in fact carry a different registration number than that previously recorded. Pre-production samples carried a registration of HK4212, whilst the general release carries registration number HK4215. All relevant pages have been updated. My thanks to Jacky Ho for providing the correct information and photos.

If you know of any other errors on this site or if you can provide any missing information, no matter how trivial, please contact me, as I would like this site to be THE reference point for Oriental Model Buses!

Two further photographs of Citybus No 2800 in 25th Anniversary livery have been uploaded to the Xtra section of the site.

Just uploaded are photographs taken during the "Exhibition on History of Hong Kong Buses" and the "The Historical Exhibition for Hong Kong Trams".

Photographs of the second Megabus.com Leyland Olympian from Creative Master Northcord (hkbus2004) have been added, several of which, like that shown above, will enable you to compare the two models.

I have recently acquired the above KMB emblems, which vary in size from 27cm in diameter to 7cm in diameter. Can anyone shed any light on this item please?

I am reliably informed that Cars Workshop will soon issue a new model featuring Citybus Scania/Volgren No. 2800 in the company's 25th anniversary livery, as pictured above.

Corgi Citybus MAN/Volgren No. 2500 in 'original' livery (OM45405) is expected to be released in Hong Kong next week.

I believe that quantities of second 'Megabus.com' liveried Leyland Olympian from Creative Master Northcord (hkbus2004) have now been released in Hong Kong. Further photos will be added shortly.

With the large amount of recent news received, together with the lack of 'spare' time I have had over the last week or so, I have been unable to find the time to publish photos taken at the "Exhibition on History of Hong Kong Buses" or those taken during "The Historical Exhibition for Hong Kong Trams". Please bear with me and I hope that all outstanding photos will be uploaded at the weekend.

As announced yesterday, the Corgi Citybus MAN/Volgren No. 2500 in 'Stagecoach style' corporate livery (OM45404) was released in Hong Kong today.

The Xtra section has been updated with new photos being added to the page featuring buses that have changed hands in Hong Kong, these being several MAN NL262/R s having been sold by Citybus to NLB.

11th August 2004

The Corgi Citybus MAN/Volgren No. 2500 in 'Stagecoach style' corporate livery (OM45404) is due to be released in Hong Kong tomorrow.

The Xtra section has been updated with a new page featuring photos of the real KMB MAN/Volgrens.

10th August 2004

The Xtra section of the site has been updated, and a new page has been added featuring Citybus Scania/Volgren No.2800 in special 25th Anniversary livery. Larger photographs of the new NWFB Route 15 livery have also been added together with another photo of Hong Kong Tram No. 100 carrying the special centenary livery.

I have received photographs taken at the "Exhibition on History of Hong Kong Buses" and hope to upload these shortly.

Following the recent news regarding the forthcoming model from Best Choose of CMB ECW bodied Leyland Olympian BR2, I am grateful to Winston Lau for providing photographs of the real bus, one of which is pictured above.

New World First Bus Dennis Condor DM18 has now been transferred to the Citybus fleet and is numbered No.20. It is pictured above carrying 'Hong Kong. Live It. Love It' decals.

Whilst on the subject of 'real' buses, of the batch of Volvo Olympians in the Citybus fleet series 901 - 1040, fleet nos. 1000-1040 have been renumbered 9000-9040. This is believed to have been carried out to avoid any confusion between the New World First Bus fleet with the same fleet numbers 1001-1190, seeing as the two fleets are amalgamating.

2nd August 2004

Pictured above is a pre-production sample of China Motor Bus ECW bodied Leyland Olympian BR2 from Best Choose.
