Photographed at Showbus today is this tri-axle Leyland Olympian, which is not an ex-Hong Kong example. It was one of three purchased by Stagecoach for evaluation, and was at the time Britain's biggest bus, with 110 seats. The other two were sold by Stagecoach earlier this year, and this one is reportedly going into a private collection of preserved buses, but it is still operating with United Counties Bedford depot. There is a report on this bus in the latest Buses magazine. My thanks to Dave Rogers for the photograph and information.

The trial by SMRT Buses (Singapore) of MAN demonstrator SMB138Y has proved successful, resulting in an order of 200 complete buses.

The production MAN NL323F buses are to be bodied by Gemilang (design based on MAN Lion City Hybrid). The buses are Euro V compliant with the engine producing 320 hp, fully low floor, equipped with Alcoa rims, Vogelsitze seatings and Mobitec electronic destination signage. The air-conditioning appears to be supplied by Denso like the demonstrator, but this is unconfirmed owing to the black area covering the front top of the bus.

One of the batch of production batch buses, SMB189A, was spotted on the road while undergoing tests with trade plate. The revenue equipment and side electronic destination signage are not installed yet. More buses are expected to be delivered in the coming months.

My thanks to Mark Chua for providing this update.

It appears that my site has been unavailable for part of the day as a result of problems with my web-hosting company, despite their 'system status' reporting no problems. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused - all appears to be OK again tonight.  Update 2230hrs - the problems appear to be on-going.
