Three
models were released during my recent holiday, these being :-
16th
November
saw the release of New Lantao Bus Mitsubishi Fuso Rosa MS13 (RY4232)
on route 34 with a destination written only in Chinese (see below). It
is limited to 688 pieces (63861).
22nd
November saw the second release of Model 1's China Motor Bus Leyland
Olympian LM5 (FW2286) in plain red livery, this version on
route
94X and with a destination of Lei
Tung Estate - Central (63070A).
The quantity is unknown but it is
believed to uncertificated.
Also on
22nd
November, and again from Model 1, was the release of this
plain
white Leyland Olympian (63074).
Again it is believed this model is
uncertificated.
Model 1
has announced two further releases of its Asia Aero bodied MAN A91, both of which are
pictured above, Quantities for each are presently unknown as are the
release dates.
'Australia
& New Zealand Double Deck Bus' by Stephen Cho is one of a
selection
of books kindly presented to me by New Overground Publishing on my
recent visit to Hong Kong. These are pictured with two superb
Transit Graphics resin models of a Volvo B9TL with Volgren Optimus
bodywork, one in Hillsbus blue livery and the other in CDC Victoria
orange and white livery, kindly presented to me by Jotus.com. I look
forward to reading the book and am amazed at the detail of the two
models.

My
thanks to Ray
Ng for clarifying the advertising on the latest model tram release - it
is for a mosquito repellent called 'Japan Ding Ding' - clearly the term
'Ding Ding' is most relevant when it comes to Hong Kong trams!

Hong Kong today are the two standard liveried Kowloon Motor Bus
Mercedes-Benz 0.305 - ME31 (DF9740) is on route 73A
to Yuen
Chau Kok (KMB2018090)

Not a Hong
Kong model, but worthy of note on this site is the brand new
100-seat Alexander Dennis Enviro400XLB three-axle double decker,
developed in close collaboration with Lothian and chassis manufacturer
Volvo. 42 of these high-capacity buses will enter service in Edinburgh
from January onwards. They are manufactured in Falkirk, securing jobs
and adding value to the Scottish economy directly and via the extensive
local supply chain.
With
Lothian’s services in the Scottish capital seeing consistent patronage
growth, the operator collaborated with Alexander Dennis to
develop the 13.4m Enviro400XLB. Offering 100 seats and able to carry up
to 131 passengers in total, it delivers unrivalled capacity for busy
routes in the capital, while its front and middle doors will speed-up
dwell times at bus stops. It has been built to even higher standards
than bus users in Edinburgh are familiar with, with comfortable
high-backed seating, wifi, USB charging, mood lighting and audio-visual
stop announcements.
Alexander Dennis's Enviro400XLB is the first bus for the United Kingdom
to be mounted on Volvo's recently launched three-axle B8L chassis,
powered by the efficient 350bhp Euro 6 D8K engine. For the full press
release, click here (link no longer available).

enough, Model Bus Evolution issued a fictitious model back in

Today
marks the 20th anniversary of this site - little did I know
when purchasing the above model back in 1997 that it
would not only
inspire me to create this website,
but also lead me to visit the former British colony ten times
(to-date) ultimately resulting in a collection of
Hong Kong
buses and trams that my wife would dearly love to know the number of!
Perhaps, more importantly, it has enabled me to make many new friends
both here in the UK as well as in Hong Kong.
I
would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the site
over
the years - there are far too many of you to name individually -
without your help the site would not be what it is
today, so a big 'Thank
You' to you all.
Special
mention must be made to my long-suffering family for putting up with my
endless hours on a computer over the past 20 years and also
to Sindy and Joe of Jotus.com,
who have supported the site continuously from its early days, organised
my very first visit to Hong Kong and who are now part of our
'family'.
