The long-awaited resin Citybus Hino recovery truck from Supreme has now been released in Hong Kong.

30th September 2003

Showbus was again an enjoyable day and it was nice to meet up with a few fellow enthusiasts. The weather was certainly cooler than the climes of the south coast I had left behind earlier in the day, and I was glad I had my winter coat in the car. Of course, the usual heavy downpour materialised, with a few lighter showers as well, but none of this appeared to dampen people's spirits.

Hong Kong vehicles in attendance were, of course, the much publicised KMB Wright Gemini bodied Volvo B10TL, which was parked adjacent to another ex-Hong Kong bus, namely DM17, the preserved ex-New World First Bus Dennis Condor, which won the award for the BEST DOUBLE DECKER 1990 - 1999.

Two MCW Metrobuses were parked next to each other, one being a converted open-top in Arriva's Original Citysightseeing livery whilst the second, ML51, was in the colours of Patron Travel and on loan to Nottingham Bus Enthusiasts.

On the model front, Britbus appeared to dominate the event, and pictured below is a display featuring their models. For us Hong Kong enthusiasts, both the AsianBus CMB blue and cream Metropolitan and the red and cream Guy Arab were on sale. There was an abundance of cheap Hong Kong models, mainly Corgi and Collector's Model.

Now released in Hong Kong is the Buses Model "Save Our Seas" CMB Leyland Olympian LM4 (L40703). New photographs of this model have now been uploaded together with some additions to the Xtra page.

The third Citybus resin model from 80M Bus Models to be released in quick succession is this Dennis fire engine (88003). I would appreciate any information on this vehicle.

For those of you who are attending Showbus 2003 on Sunday, may I take this opportunity of wishing you an enjoyable day. I will be on or around DM17, which is Entry No. 498 (the KMB Wrights Gemini is Entry No. 499), at about 1400hrs for anyone wishing to say hello.

I am reliably informed that a 2nd version of KMB's Metsec Fleetline, this time in KMB's current corporate livery, is due to be released in October.

The AsianBus MCW-Scania Metropolitan (AS1003) is now available in the UK.

17th September 2003

Following comments made on another website about the recently released 80M Hino recovery truck, I would just like to set the record straight.

Citybus have confirmed that they approved the production of both Hino recovery trucks, one by 80M and one by Supreme. The Supreme one was due out several months ago and they failed to achieve this. It would therefore be unreasonable to expect 80M to keep on delaying the release of their model while waiting for Supreme to sort its problems out. As and when Supreme send me details of their model, this will be 'promoted' as has the 80M model.

14th September 2003

A new page has been created for the resin Citybus Hino Recovery Truck (88005) featured in yesterday's news, which contains further photographs of the model and a superb photograph of the actual vehicle.

 12th September 2003

A quiet week with no new releases and no news to report on forthcoming releases.

Announced on the British Model Buses website this week is news that John Ayrey Diecasts have confirmed that with immediate effect they will be no longer acting as UK Distributor for the Collector's Models range of models.

A reminder that Showbus 2003 takes place on Sunday 28th September, again at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, Cambridgeshire. As previously reported, a KMB Volvo/Wrights Gemini will be attending.
