Two 12-metre non air-con KMB Leyland Olympians are set for release on 14th June, one on route 46X, the other on route 80. Each is limited to 900 pieces. No other details are known.



As detailed above, Tramric are to unveil a new product on 1st June - details will appear in due course, alternatively follow the news on their Facebook page



Kowloon Motor Bus has decorated yet another bus in an 80th anniversary livery, this being a Salvador Caetano bodied Scania K310UD (believed to be ASU19). Subsequent to this news, a second Enviro400 has received an 80th anniversary livery, this being a cream and brown livery as carried by air-conditioned Dennis Jubilant CF4180 and Leyland Victory Mk2 CM3879.

In contrast to all the new buses currently arriving, the above photograph shows a selection of retired Citybus vehicles. Left to right are 1356 and 1340, Jit Luen bodied Volvo B6RLEs, 2207 a Duple Metsec bodied Dennis Trident, 315 an Alexander bodied Volvo Olympian and an unidentified MAN.

Set for release tomorrow are these two Kowloon Motor Bus models. The first (top) is a Cars Workshop model featuring AEC Regent V AD7182 (38103) on route 6D to Ngau Tau Kok and is limited to 1,200 pieces. The second is an 80M Bus Model and features Duple Metsec bodied Dennis Dragon S3N363 (80883) on route 11 to Diamond Hill Railway Station and again is limited to 1,200 pieces. New pages and further images will be added as soon as time allows.

Two new Kowloon Motor Bus releases are set to be issued on 27th May. The first is non air-con Dennis Dragon S3N363 with JR Team banner adverts whilst the second features an AEC Regent with a diorama. Further details will be published when known.

Kowloon Motor Bus has applied a further 80th anniversary livery to a Wrights Gemini 2 bodied Volvo B9TL, this being AVBWU200. The livery is that carried by the unique Alexander bodied Volvo B10MB VMD1 and I am grateful to JR Team for allowing me use the above photograph. I personally was disappointed to note that Kowloon Motor Bus has varied the 80th Anniversary livery originally applied to Wrights Gemini 2 bodied Volvo B9TL AVBWU253. Recently released but not previously mentioned are these two N-scale (1:150) sets featuring a Toyota Coaster public light bus (PLB) and Toyota Crown Comfort taxi. The top image shows set 22051 featuring a green PLB and red taxi, whilst the bottom photograph shows set 22052 with a red PLB and green taxi. These are produced by 80M Bus Model Shop and retail for HK$55 each.

Released today in Hong Kong are two similar sets, but in 1:76 scale. The top image shows set 22081 featuring green PLB BS6882 and a red taxi whilst the bottom photograph shows set 22082 with red PLB BN9327 and green taxi. These sets are again produced by 80M Bus Model Shop and retails for HK$118.

On the subject of taxis, the Toyota Crown Comfort has long been the standard Hong Kong taxi, however several Toyota Prius have been delivered and one such example is pictured above. I'm not sure whether the same amount of luggage capacity is available - I've often noted a Crown Comfort with luggage popping out of the open boot, secured only by a few straps!!
Also noted in the last week are several China built BYD electric taxis.

According to the Across website, only two Citybus 10.4 metre Dragons remain in service, 735 and 740. Both are set to be retired in June. 735 is pictured here on 3rd December 2010 approaching Stanley Village.

Set for release in Hong Kong on Saturday is the second MTR Bus Enviro500 (39419). Featuring fleet no. 802 on route K76 to Ting Heng, it is limited to 1,250 pieces. A new page and further photographs have now been added..

Three further 'new generation' Enviro500s (ATENU7-9) were registered by Kowloon Motor Bus today. Meanwhile, a similar 11.3 metre example for Citybus was noted today with trade plates and carrying fleet no. 9102.

The site received 10,990 hits last week, a new record and easily beating the previous best of 9,652 in May 2011. A big THANK YOU to all of you who continue to provide news, information and photographs for sharing.

The first buses to receive 'SA' registrations are New World First Bus Enviro500 fleet no. 5580 (SA2087) which was registered on Tuesday and two 'new-generation' Enviro500s for Kowloon Motor Bus, fleet nos. ATENU2 (SA2959) and ATENU3 (SA3262), which were registered today.

Noted yesterday was Discovery Bay Golf DBAY30, a Volvo B7R with Asia Aero bodywork and registered RZ7890 - this will replace the former DBAY30, A Berkhof bodied MAN.

Kowloon Motor Bus Northern Counties bodied Dennis Dart AA48 is pictured here operating route 24 yesterday - it is believed to be last of this type still in service.
