A little
off topic (that's one of
the advantages of this job!) is the above photograph of one
of London's new Wrights buses. Route 24 was the first
route
to be converted to the new 'Borismaster' and LT35 (LTZ1035) is
pictured here yesterday. The second route to be converted
is route 11, operated by Go Ahead, which will commence on 21st
September. Following the eight prototype buses, an order for 600 buses
has been placed.
Linking from the
above news item, independent
transport videos has released a new DVD on the
subject of the prototype 'Borismasters' - just follow the link.

Spotted yesterday
undergoing road tests in Tuen Mun was this Wrights Gemini 2 Volvo B9TL.
I am grateful to Stephen
Cho for explaining
the reason why the new 'new generation' Enviro500s do not have wheel
trims, this being the fact that these new buses have ZF axles
instead of Dana axles. The fitting of wheel covers would make them over
width. The same applies to the Enviro400s.

expected to be published in July. The following text has been received:-
'This book is a treasure chest of information that will nourish your
soul. Tramric brings new themes in a book every year for transport
enthusiasts. We have worked with professional photographers to create a
photo compilation that will debut in July, and we are fortunate to have
the preface written by Hong Kong Tramways' General Manager. 'Tram Art
Gallery' is designed and packaged as a collector's item, portraying our
trams in an artistic and creative way. The photo collection captures
our trams in unique settings and highlights changes in our cityscape
