I was very lucky to have been offered first refusal on a pre-production sample of Corgi's Citybus Plaxton bodied Dennis Dart (42803). It arrived yesterday and I am presently in the process of taking a few photographs to show the differences between this p/p sample and the production model.

The p/p sample is pictured on the left in the above photographs, and the most noticeable difference is the lack of a roof-mounted air-con pod. Whilst the production sample features fleet no. 1419 (GM7990), the p/p sample features 1402 (GM6631) although this registration is missing on the rear of the bus. The rear of the p/p sample is also missing the Cityshuttle logo. The shades of blue, red and yellow are darker on the p/p sample. There are a few more minor differences and these will be apparent once I have completed photographing the models and added a new page.

Believed to have been recently released are these two 1/76 scale Toyota Coaster public light buses from Tiny. Pictured above is JU112 (Box 8(e) / ATC65054) whilst the lower image shows LV6780 on route 103 to Kwun Tong Ferry Pier (Box 25 (e) / ATC65175)

Kowloon Motor Bus announced today to sign a 5-year HK$500 million green loan with Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited (“BOCHK”). The proceeds will be used for funding sustainability- and environmental, social and governance- (ESG) related initiatives, marking the first green loan of KMB. Meanwhile, KMB has also become the first franchised bus operator in Hong Kong to promote sustainable development with green loan, committed to combating climate change with the community.

The green loan, which is used for sustainability-related initiatives, including purchasing the latest model of eco-buses, electric buses and solar panels, will enable KMB to reduce carbon emissions generated by operations and promote green transport.

Kowloon Motor Bus has created a new class, E5Tx, for former Long Win Bus Enviro500s originally numbered 65xx. These were new in 2015 and were fitted with high specification coach seating. The upper deck seating remains 'high-spec' but the number of seats has been reduced to 55. Pictured above is E5T9 (TH4359) which was formerly 6505.

I am grateful to Wilson Wong for providing information and photographs of NP Models Sun Bus liveried Neoplan Centroliner NP1015. I previously had this incorrectly recorded as NP1015A and similarly had NP1015A incorrectly recorded as NP1015. This latest information has enabled me to remove another entry from my 'Help Needed' page. The aforementioned pages have now been corrected and Wilson's photographs have also been added.

My thanks to Hong Choi for allowing me to share his photographs of the above trams taken today, which was a Free Ride Day. This was to mark the occasion of the Tramways being awarded the Guinness World Record title of the largest double-decker tram fleet in service. Tram no. 166 carries a livery similar to that applied to the recently released model tram, whilst Tram no. 165 (bottom left) appropriately carries decals to record the fact the fleet consists of 165 trams. Tram no. 88 (bottom right) carries a new shade of green developed by Pantone and described as a vivid and verdant deep grassy green that celebrates the heritage and cultural significance of HK Tramways and its unique distinction as a globally recognised iconic mobile landmark.

Coincidentally, the above Sunny Max 1/87 tram joined the collection today, just 21 years after being released!!  New photographs have now been added to the relevant page. Of note is the destination, which reads 'WESTERM'.

The following is an article from The Standard, Hong Kong:-

"To celebrate the outstanding performance of Hong Kong athletes at the Tokyo Olympics and to extend the enthusiasm of the Games, Kowloon Motor Buses Co Ltd (KMB) has launched two Olympics-themed buses, which began their journey today.

The two buses cover route 66X, travelling between Tuen Mun (Tai Hing Estate) and Olympic Station, and route 270B, travelling between Sheung Shui and Olympic Station.

The color white is used as the main tone for the body of the buses. There are also silhouette images on the bodies, using the colors of the five Olympic rings – blue, yellow, black, green and red.

The images represent Hong Kong athletes who are in action when competing in the 13 Olympics events, including swimming, track and field, gymnastics, karate, table tennis, cycling, windsurfing, equestrian, fencing, triathlon, golf and badminton.

There is also a message written on the body of the buses, saying “PROUD OF YOU,” which expresses gratitude to athletes for creating history for Hong Kong in Tokyo.

Earlier, KMB had already give out one-year free rides, and “bus naming rights” to all members of the Hong Kong delegation. Every member can name one KMB bus, and a tag with naming content and messages will be displayed at the front of the bus compartment.

On the other hand, Octopus Card Ltd will issue a special edition of the smart card to Hong Kong athletes as well.

The tailor-made Octopus cards will feature drawings of each athlete created by photorealist artist Paul Lung, capturing the unforgettable moments for them. These unique cards will be sent to the athletes very soon.

A spokesperson of Octopus Card Ltd praised the athletes for their perseverance and determination, and hoped that the cards will commemorate their moments at the Olympics."

The bus pictured is V6B176 (XE732).
