I have been advised of a further variant of the Citybus liveried Jonckheere Monaco bodied Volvo B12 from Brilliant Buses. This time, fleet no. 2002 (GT2767)  is represented, on route 88R with a destination of Central. This model carries the product code BB004 and a new page and further photographs have now been added.

An interesting and recent release is this 1/64 scale radio control and multi-function model from Xcartoys. It features Citybus 801, a Norinco Neoplan BN316 coach, one of three acquired by Citybus in 1990. Two of the three, 801 and 802, were delivered with left-hand drive, as they were to be used mainly in China. A new page has now been added with further photographs - just follow this link. My thanks again to Jacky Ho for informing me of this model.

I have assumed their model numbers, as can be seen from viewing the Volvo B12 page.  If you are able to provide details of any other variants or further details/photographs, do please e-mail me. I have also updated and corrected the XTRA page featuring the actual Citybus vehicles.

Kowloon Motor Bus has today launched its Year of the Snake livery, which has been applied to V6X175 (YP2210), a 12.8 metre Wrights Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B8L.

Part of the press release reads:- "The Company sends New Year blessings to the public and passengers. It has carefully designed a zodiac bus for the Year of the Snake to shuttle through the busy streets of Hong Kong and Kowloon every day. Good luck spreads to every corner of the city; in addition KMB's Year of the Snake celebration can be distributed free of charge at more than 70 bus terminals and passenger service stations in Hong Kong from today, wishing all citizens that "the snake will turn around" and "everything goes well in the new year".

The bus for the new year uses green as the main colour to show its vitality, and is decorated with pink geometric patterns and windmills to bring people a feeling of nature, freshness and rejuvenation of the earth. It is composed of golden snakes "2025" ”, in addition to the golden meaning of bringing good luck, it also shows the dexterity of snakes, which can easily cope with different environmental challenges; and the pink Hui Chun has the words “snake comes to run” and “all the best”, wishing citizens good luck in the new year. Go with the wind and the current, be as flexible and agile as a snake, and be able to overcome adversity when encountering it.

The Year of the Snake Zodiac Bus will mainly travel on Route 102 [Mei Foo ⇋ Shau Kei Wan], traveling through Mong Kok, Causeway Bay and other busy cities of Hong Kong and Kowloon every day, spreading the blessings of the New Year to every corner of Hong Kong. From now on, members of the public can also collect KMB New Year greeting cards for free at more than 70 large bus termini and passenger service stations across Hong Kong. The quantity is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis".

My thanks to Alvin Man for allowing me to share this photograph of the model gifted to retiring Citybus staff. This model presumably replaces the 12.8 metre ADL 'facelift' Enviro500, which featured a Citybus livery on one side and a New World First Bus livery on the other, further details of which can be found here.

I recently came across some photographs, on social media, of a model that I had not previously come across. With the kind permission of Kenny Mok, here are a couple of photographs.

The resin model represents Citybus coach fleet no. 2004 (GT2814), a Volvo B12 with Jonckheere Monaco bodywork. Further details of the actual vehicles will be added shortly. Meanwhile, researching the model I can confirm that it is one of several issued by Brilliant Buses, aka B&B, back in late 2023. The company posted a photograph of a resin prototype in September 2023 followed by a plain white sample in November 2023. It then posted an apology on 28th November stating that it was ceasing the sale of the Citybus liveried examples, presumably having been contacted by Citybus. I believe that several were issued.

The company did publish, in December 2023, details of three Singapore three-door Alexander Dennis 'facelift' Enviro500s and details of these models, which have yet to be released, can be found in my September News page (13th September).

If you can provide any further details of these models, do please e-mail me.

Meanwhile, I thought I would highlight the actual buses and in this respect I have added a new page to the
XTRA section of the site, giving further details and photographs of these vehicles.

Hopefully 2025 will see the introduction, by Kowloon Motor Bus, of its retro liveried buses, several of which have been sat idle for over a year - a model would also be nice!
