Alexander bodied Volvo Olympian VA60 carries a new banner advertisement 🤣🤣 Today is the final day of the New World First Bus brand, with Citybus taking over all its buses and routes from 1st July.

A variety of New World First Bus buses all destined for The Peak
Tiny has released the red/cream 19-seat Toyota Coaster public light bus which was first announced just over a year ago. It features XA571 with a destination of Chai Wan (Box 183(a) / ATC65994). 29th June 2023 | ||||||||||||||
The last non air-conditioned bus (known as a hot dog) in the New World First Bus fleet was DM28, a Duple Metsec bodied Dennis Condor. Transferred from the China Motor Bus on 1st September 1998, it carried out the 'Bye Bye My Hot Dog' tour on 17th August 2002. The T-shirt, pictured above the bus, was also one of the items available at the time to mark the event. (DW10205/20011).
To mark the new millennium, Alexander ALX500 bodied Dennis Trident received this rather attractive livery - this is a Drumwell model and was appropriately released on 1st January 2000 (99006). The book behind the model is entitled 'The New Millennium of New World First Bus' and was published in February 2000. 28th June 2023 | ||||||||||||||
These colourful liveries were used to mark the first anniversary (left) and fifth anniversary (right) of the company.

Long Win Bus UV6X66 (YS4204) is the first of the companys 12.8 metre Volvo B8Ls to carry Wrights Gemini 3 bodywork, the previous 65 all having MCV EvoSeti bodies. It was first registered on 14th June 2023.

Well, thanks to Ramon Chan, that has now changed, in fact it probably has one of the largest selection of photographs! Creative Bus Model only issued four unlicensed models of Kowloon Motor Bus Mercedes-Benz O.305. ME2 (DF7102) was the last of the four to be released, in November 2018 (CBM10104). The
public voting for the next Citybus livery ended on Sunday and today the
company announced the two liveries that will progress to the final,
which will be decided by the company's employees.
Livery 5 received 35.7% of the votes
Livery 4 received 23.9% of the votes

Now released is this Kowloon Motor Bus 9.7 metre MCW Metrobus which was announced back on 9th June. It features M78 (DH1770) and is on route 64K with a destination of Tai Po KCR (KMB2023006). The two Kowloon Motor Bus BYD electric single-deckers announced yesterday have been released in Hong Kong today.
On the left is BEB1 (XV5838) with a destination of 'eBus' (KMB2023004) and on the right is BEB3 (XZ5361) on route 6 with a destination of Star Ferry (KMB2023005). Each is limited to 900 pieces. 10th June 2023 | ||||||||||||||
The process for choosing a new livery for Citybus has officially begun, with the company having a dedicated page on its website which displays the five liveries and allows the visitor to vote for their favourite - the page can be found by following this link (link no longer available). Voting closes on the 18th June.
© Stuart Dobie It is nearly 25 years since Stuart Dobie first provided me with details of Citybus models and Stuart continues to support my site by allowing me to share his photograph of former China Light & Power Leyland Olympian still operating for Coast to Coast Travel of Ardrossan, Scotland. Now registered RHZ9701, it was originally numbered 300 (FC3781) in the CLP fleet. It returned to the UK along with several others in November 2009, having first been registered in Hong Kong in April 1992, making it over 30 years old!
Announced today on KMB's e-shop are these three 1/76 scale models, details of which are as follows:-
The first of the BYD single-deckers features BEB3 (XZ5361) on route 6 with a destination of Star Ferry (KMB2023005).
The second features BEB1 (XV5838) with a destination of 'eBus' (KMB2023004). New pages for the two BYD models have now been added. The 9.7 metre MCW Metrobus features M78 (DH1770) and it is on route 64K with a destination of Tai Po KCR (KMB2023006).
I can confirm that the 'retro' liveried New World First Bus ADL 'facelift' Enviro500 from Model 1 was released yesterday (63358/ 20112). It is limited to 800 pieces.

Citybus will participate in the Central SummerFest 2023, which is being held between 9th June and 23rd July.
Some of the heritage buses taking part in the event arrived on Tuesday evening including former Citybus Leyland Atlantean A633 and former New World First Bus Volvo Super Olympian 5102.

I clearly tempted fate when I added a new page to the XTRA section of the site detailing the models of New World First Bus, as announced today on the Citybus e-shop is this model of 'retro' liveried New World First Bus 5839, a 12 metre ADL 'facelift' Enviro500 (63358/ 20112). It is on route 2X to Shau Kei Wan. No other details are presently known.
Discovery Bay registered three new Gemilang bodied MAN A95 on 4th May and these have now entered service. A new page has just been added to the XTRA section of the site giving further details and photographs. 6th June 2023 | ||||||||||||||

New pages have now been added for the two 1/43 scale Toyota Coaster public light buses from Tiny. The green version features LS9767 on route 45 (ATC43175) whilst the red vesion features LT8286 on route 18 with a destination of Yuen long (ATC43176).
