I make no apologies for posting a further photograph of the recently arrived MCV bodied Volvo B8Ls! My thanks to Dennis Leung for allowing me to share his excellent photograph.
Released 10 years ago today was this Citybus Alexander bodied Leyland Olympian. Fleet no. 179 carries 'Big C' livery on route 88R to City One Shatin and was limited to 800 pieces (CM096/hkbus0004) 27th May 2024

Released in Hong Kong today are the two Citybus concept liveried ADL 'facelift' Enviro500s. On the left is 8546 (VW9560) on route 780 to Chai Wan (63361/CM187) and on the right is 8538 (VN5149) on route 118P to Cheung Sha Wan (W) (63362/CM188). Each is limited to 800 pieces. 23rd May 2024

The above two models have been released today - BYD B12D BED23 (YX6462) carries 91st anniversary and 'Green is Good' decals and is on route 6 to Star Ferry - it is limited to 750 pieces (KMB2023294). The Sun Bus StreetDeck features XS1685 on route 331S with a destination of Ma Wan (Pak Yan Road) and is limited to 700 pieces (KMB2024004). 22nd May 2024

When not spending time
updating this News page, I am always looking out for photographs of
models that I know I have a limited photographic record of. Tonight I
came across some photographs of the plain white liveried Toyota Coaster
from Model 1, issued almost five years ago (63807).
The photographs were posted on a Singapore based social media
model bus group. A request to the member who posted the
photographs has met with a positive reply, for which I am grateful, so
thank you Adrian Ong!

Morgan for highlighting that I had 'missed' a couple of further Kowloon
Motor Bus models, which are due to be released on 22nd May.
The first is a Sun Bus StreetDeck on route 331S whilst the second features BYD B12D BED23 (YX6462) with 91st anniversary and 'Green is Good' decals. The latter is on route 6 to Star Ferry. No other details are currently known. I can confirm that the Kowloon Motor Bus Minna No Tabo liveried Volvo B8L has been released today and a new page is in the process of being added (KMB2023227). It is limited to 1,000 pieces. 16th May 2024

Kowloon Motor Bus has today confirmed it will issue a number of Minna No Tabo souvenirs, including several models of 12.8 metre Wrights Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B8L V6X149 (YH9809), including a 1/43 remote control model, a 1/76 model and a Tiny 1/110 model. They will be available to order from the KMB e-shop from 11.00am on 16th May. 14th May 2024

Kowloon Motor Bus has today announced it will launch its new Alexander Dennis Enviro500EVs into service tomorrow. They will operate on route 112. To-date, only two such buses have been registered, these being AED1 (ZC6546) and AED2 (ZF7332).
In the news below regarding the new KCRC MCW Metrobuses, I failed to mention that in addition to each model being available to buy individually, a set comprising of all three models was also offered. Unfortunately, I am unable to advise the quantity of this set nor do I know its product code - if you can help, please e-mail me. |

The
three KCRC
Metrobuses announced yesterday have been released today in Hong Kong.
These are 80M Bus Model products and each is limited to 1,200 pieces. I
have added the product codes below and new pages for each have now been
added, although further photographs have yet to be added.
Citybus has today announced the forthcoming release of the above two models which carry the unsuccessful experimental Citybus liveries. Both feature 12 metre ADL 'facelift' Enviro500s - on the left is 8546 (VW9560) on route 780 to Chai Wan (this livery came 5th in the poll of five liveries) whilst that on the right features 8538 (VN5149) on route 118P to Cheung Sha Wan (W) (this livery was runner-up in the poll). They are due to go on sale on 13th May. 9th May 2024

Announced on the MTR website, and believed to be available to order from tomorrow, are these three KCRC liveried 9.7 metre MCW Metrobuses.
The first features fleet no. 130 (DV4710) on route 521 to Tseng Choi Street (KCRC88801).
The second features fleet no. 112 (DS6118) on route A59 to Leung King Estate (KCRC88802).
The third features fleet no. 125 (DU2064) on route 659 to Tin Shui Wai Town Centre (KCRC88803).
As with news of any new model, I look through my own collection of photographs to see if I have one of the actual bus, and the best that I can come up with is this shot of fleet no. 118 (DS7642) taken at Yuen Long on 25th November 2002 - at least is has the same route number!! 8th May 2024
