Spotted yesterday operating KMB's new route 19 was BYD B12D fleet number AED2 (ZF7332), decorated with appropriate decals for routes 19 and 600.

I am grateful to Ming Cho for clarifying the destination on the BMCU Kowloon Motor Bus liveried MAN A95 released back in November 2019 (BMCU61X). I initially believed there may have been two versions, as destinations of 'Kowloon City Ferry' and 'Tuen Mun Central' had been noted, both termini of route 61X. However, Ming Cho has confirmed that the released model carried a destination of 'Tuen Mun Central', that featuring 'Kowloon City Ferry' having been modified by the purchaser.

It appears that a further version is also imminent, this again features AR7670, this time on route 19 to Kwun Tong Ferry (55914).

Having enjoyed a few days away, it's back to work this evening!!

80M Bus Model Shop has announced two versions of a 1/43 scale China Motor Bus 11-metre Leyland Olympian. The first features LM5 (FW2286), in all-over red livery and on route 94X to Admiralty. It is limited to 350 pieces (CMB14301). The second features LM7 (FW3152), which carries the CMB Hotline livery. It is on route 82 to North Point and is limited to 600 pieces (CMB14302). New pages and further photographs will be added shortly.

Three further Kowloon Motor Bus liveried Seddon Pennine IVs have been announced by APEC, these featuring AR7670 on route 31 to Shek Lei (55905), AR7688 on route 35A to Shek Yam (55912) and AR7680 on route 20 to Oi Man (55913). I plan to add new pages and photographs shortly.

Released in Hong Kong today is the Citybus 12 metre ADL 'facelift' Enviro500 fleet number 8541 (VN8682) from Model 1 (63368/CM203). It is on route 8X to Happy Valley and is limited to 1,200 pieces.

Noted recently on a popular auction site was a 1/76 scale model of this driverless Hong Kong Airport shuttle bus. The model has now sold and no other details are known, but if anyone can provide further information, do please e-mail me.

Former New World First Bus 11.3 metre ADL Enviro500 4020 (PD9452), now Citybus 41000, carries the latest Asia's World City livery. This photograph has been added to this page in the XTRA section of the site, which details the various Asia World City liveries over the years.

Tiny has announced two further 1/76 scale Toyota Coaster 19 seat public light buses, which are set for release in October. The red example is labelled as Box PTV04 (ATC66370) whilst the green example is TINY08 (ATC66371). New pages will be created shortly (now added).

A recent cross-check between my Excel spreadsheet of 1/76 scale models and the various tables on the website identified a couple of minor discrepancies, mainly as a result of previously unrecorded models being added to the spreadsheet, but not being added to the relevant table. These have now been rectified and the tables below give a summary of the number of models produced, the first by the major Hong Kong bus operators and the second by the main model manufacturers.

Back on 21st December 2023 I posted photographs of former Kowloon Motor Bus Wrights bodied Volvo B10TL AVW96 (MA4745) having just arrived at Southampton Docks. Well today, Replacement Bus Hire posted an update on their Facebook page, along with some photographs, a couple of which they have kindly allowed me to share.

A new page has now been created for the Citybus ADL 'facelift' Enviro500 announced yesterday (63368/CM203), which is set for release shortly and which is limited to 1,200 pieces.

Citybus has today announced it is to release the above model of 12 metre ADL 'facelift' Enviro500 fleet number 8541 (VN8682) (CM203). It is on route 8X to Happy Valley.

New pages have now been added for the four models featured in yesterday's News update.

7th March 2025

Further to my news update on 28th February, I am now able to provide further details of the four models mentioned.

First is a 12.8 metre Wrights Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B8L V6X167 (YJ9948) on route 619 to Shun Lee and limited to 750 pieces (KMB2025002)

Next is Gemilang bodied Volvo B9TL AVG1 (VS9188) on route 11K to Hung Hom Station and limited to 700 pieces (KMB2025003).

Next is a second Gemilang bodied Volvo B9TL, this time featuring AVG3 (VT4112) on route 12A to Cheung Sha Wan (Hoi Tat Estate) and limited to 700 pieces (KMB2025004).

And finally, Salvador Caetano bodied Scania K310UD registration PC3794, formerly ASU17, with a destination of 'Sun Bus' limited to just 380 pieces (KMB2025072).

My thanks to Robin Bennett for sending me photographs of his recently acquired resin Kowloon Motor Bus Bedford OB from the Hong Long Model Company (8142A). Of note is the destination on this model, which reads 'Star Ferry - Ngauchiwan 9'. This differs from the destination on the original release, which reads Star Ferry - Lai Chi Kok 6. This latest destination is the same as that carried by the resin Ford Thames Trader model 8131A. So, the question is, was this destination a variant at the time of release or has it been altered by a previous owner?
