New World First Bus are to release a model of Leyland Victory LV30, which has been specially decorated to mark the end of the Leyland Victory in Hong Kong. LV30 will be the representative of the LV class running the last Victory journey on August 31st at 2:30pm from Shai Kei Wan to Shek O.

Collectors Model have today released, in Hong Kong, their 10.4 metre Dennis Dragon, in Citybus livery, Model No DGS-001.

My apologies for failing to advise the UK release of Corgi's MCW Metrobus MC7 (Model No 45107). If anyone can provide me with the date that this was first available here in the UK, I would be very grateful.

Yet another exclusive !!

Following the teaser in last month's news section "Do you remember me?", the Model Express Company has confirmed that it's first release will be in the form of Dennis Dominator SD3, a photograph of the actual vehicle being shown below. It is expected to be released in early September, on route 8 to Siu San Wan. Quantities are believed to be 2,228. (Now known to be 4,000)

More details will follow, when known.

Released in Hong Kong yesterday were the two versions of ABC Model's three-axle MCW Metrobuses in CMB colours (000802).


Now available in the UK is Collector's Model Leyland Victory (Model No. V109B) in Hollywood Plaza livery.


 

EFE have announced their special subscriber offer for Citybus Model No. 25709 and China Motor Bus driver training vehicle Model No. 27401.
Both models are being offered to subscribers for £13.50 each (including p+p). It is expected that the models will be despatched during September.

The current edition of Buses magazine (September 2000) includes an article on the ex- New World First Bus Metrobuses that have been imported by Ensignbus.

The article also includes a small section, including two photographs, detailing the model Metrobus recently released by ABC Models.


My next update will include some detailed photographs of the recent new releases, which owing to constraints in my time, I have not managed to upload. This next update is expected on Monday 21st August.

 Corgi's DS6 (Model No 44803) was released in Hong Kong today.

I am now on a week's (well-deserved!!) holiday, so I regret that there will be no updates until my return, which will be on Saturday 19th.

First glimpses of the Citybus 12m Dennis Dragon, 
believed to be Fleet No. 808, and carrying branding 
for route 118. The model is believed to be from a new company called MBE

Corgi models 44801 (CMB Victory Mk2) and 41908 (CMB blue/cream "Queen Mary") are now available in the UK.


More news just received is that a 12m Metsec bodied Dennis Dragon with Citybus's Alexander style front will be released very soon. The first livery will carry all-over advertising for China Paint, being a promotional model for them. The packaging, I am reliably informed, will be a paint tin! 
The second version will be in Citybus livery with branding for route 118, which is expected to be released in mid September. 
There is also to be an ML in China Paint livery.

Another record number of hits was recorded on 1st August - 420 !!

On display at the Bus Exhibition organised by 80M Bus Model Shop, currently being held in Western Market, were samples of four new castings, namely:
                     ABC Models - CMB - Guy Arab V - Fleet No. LX333
                     Collector's Model - Citybus - Dragon Fleet No. 701
                     Corgi - Citybus - MAN/Volgren - Fleet No. 2500 
                     Unknown make - KMB - AEC Regent V/Daimler D
